It was an honor for our Monterey Bay ACF Chef Members – Chef Anthony Pangelina, Chef Jonathan Gutierrez, and Chef Mitch Vanagten – to host an inspiring Meet the Farmer event at UC Merced. We were thrilled to welcome Marc Marchini, VP of Operations of J. Marchini Farm, the largest radicchio grower in the United States, based in Merced County.
During the event, Marc shared fascinating insights into the history of J. Marchini Farms. It was wonderful to see students and community members alike engage with the farmer and learn more about the agricultural industry.
The highlight of the event was the mouth-watering four-course meal that our chefs prepared for guests, featuring the fresh and delicious produce grown by J. Marchini Farms and Vista Ranch, an event center and winery also run by the Marchini family. We were thrilled to support local farmers and showcase their outstanding products in our culinary creations.
Thank you to everyone who attended and made this Meet the Farmer event a success. We are proud to be part of a community that values our farmers and supports local businesses.
