We are excited to share that UC Merced has received the Silver Award for Catering Special Event of the Year from NACUFS for our Chancellor’s Associates dinner featuring Chef Ed Porter and his film The Food That Fuels.

This event was a powerful collaboration that highlighted Central Valley farmers, sustainable sourcing, and the culinary excellence we strive for in higher education dining.

It’s important to recognize that this award would not have been possible without the incredible teamwork of fellow ACF members Jonathan Gutierrez, Trevor Smith, Raymond Montemayor, and Mitch Vanagten. Together, we brought Chef Ed’s vision to life through a five-course menu inspired by the local ingredients and stories featured in his film.
