We are proud to share that members of the Monterey Bay ACF Chapter played a crucial role in UC Merced Dining winning a Silver Award in Outreach and Education at this year’s NACUFS (National Association of College & University Food Services) conference! The award will be presented at the NACUFS Conference on July 17th in Louisville, Kentucky.
Our talented members Anthony Pangelina, Matt Perez, Robert Sedelmeyer, Jonathan Gutierrez Santiago, and Mitch Vanagten showcased their culinary skills and dedication by cooking and coordinating the Salvage Social Hour event held on Earth Day last year. The event was a resounding success, bringing the community together to promote sustainability and environmental awareness. All proceeds from the event went to support the Bobcat Pantry on UC Merced’s campus. Shout out to Guest Chef Phil Saneski for making the trip to Merced and sharing his expertise in “upcycled” cuisine for the event. Thank you to the El Capitan Hotel for sponsoring the beautiful event space!
Congratulations to everyone involved!
